Fireplace Cover To Keep Cold Air Out
Camila Farah
Installing a magnetic fireplace vent cover over those vents is a smart solution that stops cold air dead in its tracks.
Not only will it keep the cold out and the valuable heat inside your house it will look nice while doing so. Cut the foam bumper for the first side and press it onto the double stick tape. Cut the next side and notch out where there are any overlaps. Apply the double stick tape that came with the bumper to the sides of the frame.
This damper is often made of. Easy to install and remove when you want to use the fireplace. Firmly secure the bumper to the sides of the frame with a staple gun. The damper inside the chimney just above the firebox or area where a fire is built helps keep cold air birds and animals out when the fireplace is not in use.
If you have screen doors or an insert built into your fireplace the vents along the top and or bottom of the frame are known to leak up a storm.
