Explain The Functions Of The Nervous System
Camila Farah
The central nervous system can be thought of as the coordination and integration system within organisms.
The central nervous system cns. The nervous system maintains body homeostasis with electrical signals. The central nervous system cns and the peripheral nervous system pns. For example the eyes are one of the most important sensory organs.
The nervous system collects the data and then interprets it in a way that the brain can understand and respond. The sensory function of the nervous system is the part that gathers information about both the world around you and the inside of the body. The nervous system consists of two parts shown in figure 1. The nervous system monitors and coordinates internal organ function and responds to changes in the external environment.
The nervous system is a complex collection of nerves and specialized cells known as neurons that transmit signals between different parts of the body. For instance when a hot object is touched its temperature is conveyed quickly to the central nervous system and the response is an immediate reflex of removing the hand through the action of skeletal muscles. The nervous system functions to process input from sensory receptors transfer and interpret impulses and to control the functions of body s muscles and organs. List the basic functions of the nervous system.

Provides for sensation higher mental functioning and emotional response. Thinking learning memory language insight creating and planning goals. It receives information from and sends information to the peripheral nervous system. The nervous system has two major parts.
For instance long term and short term metabolism and homeostasis are regulated through close interaction between the central. The higher functions of the nervous system also referred to as the executive functions are controlled by the brain. The information and the response could be simple subtle or complex. And activates muscles and glands.
The cns takes signals from the peripheral nervous system processes them then creates new signals to coordinate actions of different body systems.
