If we want to learn about the things jesus said and did we have to turn to these ancient texts believed to have been written by eyewitnesses or people who spoke with them during the first century. The first four books of the new testament can perhaps be considered the most important part of the bible though some point to genesis for that distinction. The first four books of the bible as a whole beginning with the new testament are. These four books present the ministry of jesus christ and are known as the historical books.
The first five books of the new testament are matthew mark luke john and acts.
